Welcome!
Colonna’s Kitchen is a love letter to Italian roots, family traditions, and the kind of food that brings people together around the table.
The name Colonna comes from my grandparents and carries generations of history with it. In Latin, colonna means column or pillar - a foundation. That meaning feels especially fitting, because this business is built on family, heritage, and the recipes that shaped how I learned to cook. My great-great-grandparents carried the Colonna name from Sepino, in the province of Campobasso, Italy, to America in 1900, bringing with them a deep respect for food as tradition, ritual, and connection.
I grew up in a classic New Jersey Italian household, which meant Sunday sauces simmering all day, meatballs made by feel instead of measurement, and meals that were never just about eating. Cooking has always been a constant in my life, and Italian food has always been my language. Now, I’m bringing those roots west and sharing them here in Denver.
I’m currently enrolled in culinary school at Cook Street School of Culinary Arts in Denver, where I’m refining my skills, deepening my technique, and learning how to honor tradition while cooking with intention. Colonna’s Kitchen is a one-person operation, with every dish prepared by me - bringing homemade Italian classics straight from my kitchen to yours.
To start, Colonna’s Kitchen will operate on a small, local scale with weekly drops: classic Italian specialties available for pickup or local delivery. This is very much a community-driven beginning. I want to hear what you want to eat, how often you’d like drops, and what dishes you’re excited about. This business will grow alongside the people it feeds.
If you’d like to follow along, give input, or stay up to date on drops, menus, and behind-the-scenes moments, you can find me on Instagram at @colonnaskitchen_denver
From my family to yours, welcome to Colonna’s Kitchen. 🍝
– With love, Katie McNally
